We finally got a good report today! We met with Dr Graves. We had another ultrasound and went over test results from the amio. Luci was very active today. She was playing with her hands and her umbilical cord. So cute! The MCA scan of the blood flow thru her brain was still high. But most of the results from the amnio were back and negative. So no chromosomal abnormalities or infections! I was diagnosed with Graves Disease, a thyroid condition. It sounds so bad! But it is treated with medication. Dr Graves believes that Luci's condition is related to the placenta and blood flow to her. She is a small baby and is trying to send extra blood to her brain to grow it (basically). We are having weekly ultrasounds and blood work to monitor her. Luci has no extra fluid around her body and is very active. So that ruled out the anemia. We think she is going to be ok. I am still on bed rest, blood thinner injections, baby aspirin, 3200 mg folic acid, beta blockers and PTU for my thyroid. I could start my own pharmacy LOL!!
I truly believe God has blessed us with a miracle. The doctors were very skeptical and confused last week. They really were not very hopeful last Tuesday or Wednesday. But Luci is a fighter and the many prayers for us were answered. Please continue to pray for us!
